When it comes to our clients, Shark Attack is lucky. We are blessed with wonderful, generous clients who regularly recommend our services to their friends without ever expecting any reward beyond a simple “Thank you”. It’s heart-warming, inspiring and uplifting.
And we’re putting a stop to it, right now.
Not the recommendation part, you understand — we sincerely hope that that will carry on as before. It’s just that Rick (Shark Attack’s Creative Director) felt that such generosity deserves more than just gratitude, especially in the current financial climate. It deserves a proper, take-it-to-the-bank reward system.
For that reason, we are introducing a new referrals programme, designed to give something back to you when you do something nice for us. It’s very easy:
- You refer a friend, colleague or client to Shark Attack (it has to be somebody with whom we have not previously done business).
- If they take up our design services then you receive a finders fee—your choice of either 5% of the project’s value in cash, or 15% of the project’s value as a discount against your next design project with Shark Attack.
- That’s it! Simple!
How good is that?!
Ker-Ching!
At a time where everyone needs a bit of extra income, you can treat yourself to a spending spree simply by recommending our services—which most of you, as a satisfied client of Shark Attack yourself, say that you would do anyway.
If you are a business owner, of course, it is also a great way to reduce your costs. Or, if you are in charge of a departmental budget, perhaps it will secure you that pay rise or promotion by saving your department serious money (“Look, boss, I just saved the company 15%!”).
Just make sure that the person you are referring to us mentions your name as the source of the recommendation, otherwise we won’t know about your kind act of generosity (we’d suggest giving us a call if you’ve recommended us to somebody and are expecting them to call, in case they forget).
The nitty-gritty
Yes, there are some terms and certain restrictions. Mainly they’re just clarifications and we’ve tried hard not to complicate things, but here they are in full anyway:
- To claim the benefits of this referral scheme you must already be a client of Shark Attack Limited. (Of course, you might point out to the person you are referring that once they are our client they, too, can start generating a bit of spending cash by referring people themselves!)
- It’s entirely up to you whether you make recommendations as yourself or on behalf of your business—it makes no difference to us and does not restrict you in any way with regard to whether you choose the cash or the discount option.
- Cash payouts can be made by cheque, direct bank transfer (BACS), or Paypal. Not actual bundles of cash. It’s just a name, y’know?
- Referrals must be new clients, ie. someone who has not previously used our services. (Of course, this might include different departments within a large company, if those departments each control their own budgets and make their own choices regarding suppliers).
- The finders fee is payable once the person you’re referring has signed a design agreement for their project and we have received their initial downpayment.
- Discounts can be claimed against design work for up to 24 months from the date of the referral (specifically, from the date that the newly referred party signs a design agreement).
- If you refer several people to us and choose to apply your ‘finder’s fee’ to future design projects then you are free to combine them into a single, larger discount (up to a maximum of 90% discount on a single project).
- Do you need to pay tax on your ‘finder’s fee’? We can’t advise you there, better ask your accountant. But if you do then it’s your responsibility.
If you have any questions about this new initiative feel free to ask them in the comments section below. That way, when we answer them, everybody can benefit.
Apart from that, all you have to do now is think of whom, out of the people that you know, might benefit from our services? (And how you might want to spend you money).

Hi folks. Thanks to all of you for your input.
It’s great to see the interest here from everyone who has taken the time to comment. However, I do need to flag up the condition mentioned in point no.1 of the Nitty Gritty section. Specifically: this is (currently) aimed at existing clients ONLY. I perhaps should have made that a bit clearer; maybe I’ll throw a <strong> tag into that bit of the text to help highlight that condition.
The reason for the restriction is simple: a client referral is, properly, a word-of-mouth recommendation that should be based upon personal experience. The fact that the person making the recommendation has already been a client of Shark Attack gives their recommendation weight and credibility, because it means that they know my work and speak from experience.
Of course, ANY recommendation is always welcome. I would be delighted if people would recommend the studio’s work to whomever they think would benefit from it—Shark Attack is no different to any other business in that regard. In order to take advantage of the referral programme described on this page, however, you need to be an existing client.
Of course, once you ARE a client that door opens. So roll on up!
I hope that doesn’t leave anyone feeling short-changed, but hopefully it will also clarify the situation for those who wondered (and it was a perfectly fair question) if this is a scam. (It’s not… but neither is it open season).
Thanks again.
Its a nice offer, I’ll go take my friends as a cash

is this really true? i would like to know..
@Photo Paint: Yes, it’s true, but I will draw your attention to the bit in the ‘rules’ that says that you need to be an existing Shark Attack client to take advantage of the reward.
The reason is simply that these kind of referrals should come from people who have direct personal experience of working with me.
how can i be an existing shark attach client? it is good that this referral program be implemented and i can get the price for this. i have lots of friends in the internet that i can refer to and i could make some cash, right?
