Diversity office renovations
The Metropolitan Police Service commissionned Shark Attack to oversee the refurbishing of the Diversity Learning Branch’s office suite (across two sites in the Hendon complex). The refurbishment was intended to reflect the character of the Branch which, by the nature of its remit, is deemed to be more educational and engaging than other departments. With a need to fit several more work stations into each room, Shark Attack's role was primarily to come up with desking layouts that met the staffing and ergonomic requirements, whilst keeping to budget and simultaneously bringing a designer’s eye to the process. This latter aspect was reflected in the choice of colour schemes and the careful sourcing of required items, from chairs and desks right through to complementary desk lamps and wastepaper basket, artwork for the walls and plants for the open spaces. top
Kiting across the ocean
In mid 2005 marine explorer Dom Mee attempted to cross the North Atlantic in a 14' boat powered only by kites. The ‘KiteQuest’ attempt was supported by a web site designed by Shark Attack, charting his progress and giving background information on Dom and his previous expeditions. The site included a map linked to the boat’s satellite beacon to directly reflect his position, and a blog that Dom could update directly from the boat.
Shark Attack was rooting for Dom all the way, not least because the boat had a large Shark Attack logo up on the bow.
If he hadn't been hit by no less than five hurricanes, he'd have made it, too. top
